We've been reading and taking on board a lot of your feedback, and we really appreciate everything that you're posting here - please keep it up!As you are aware, we pushed the release of Fear The Wolves back a few weeks. You can read about that decision here.[forums.focus-home.com]Today at 10PM CEST, we're going to be shutting down the Closed Beta for the weekend, so that we can work on a large update for the next stage. Yes, that means that the Closed Beta has been extended. We'll have an additional beta stage running next week from Thursday 26th until Monday the 30th, and then more testing each week after that, with specific times to be announced as we go. Thank you!The Fear The Wolves team.. Early Access has started!: We are excited to launch Fear the Wolves into Steam Early Access today! The game introduces intense player-versus-environment elements to the Battle Royale formula, including deadly radiation hazards, roaming mutants, dynamic weather and a unique endgame extraction system, all within the atmospheric environments of a decaying Chernobyl.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHAKwgWmyT4To secure the top spot out of 100, you must worry about more than just survival. While it’s possible to win a game through simply being the last alive, the helicopter extraction adds a whole new dimension to endgame strategy. In the final stages, all remaining players will be alerted to the arrival of the helicopter, which will hover over a fixed area before dropping a rope – and there’s only room for one. Will you rush to be the first to attempt an escape in the hope no one else is there yet? How will you deal with the oncoming assault of not only players, but mutant wolves, anomalies and radiation? How will your squad ensure a teammate survives the intense haul up to the chopper? We’ve seen an incredible range of creative strategies for this endgame, and we can’t wait to see what you come up with over the coming months.Fear the Wolves has already seen tens of thousands of players battling across Chernobyl during the beta period, which has allowed us to roll out multiple updates and improvements in preparation for the Early Access launch. We're incredibly grateful to all of you who parachuted into Chernobyl in the last weeks to help us iron out the game as much as possible. We know it's been a bumpy road and that some of you encountered technical issues and the focus for the last few weeks has been on ironing out the performance and bug fixes. It's only a first step and we'll keep improving and tuning the performance of the game and servers based on your feedback. To thank you for your support throughout the Beta phase, we worked on in-game t-shirts for Alpha and Beta testers! Just launch the game and pick the t-shirt in the brand new customization menu. The Unified Patch: Fear The Wolves, our FPS battle royale, continues development in Early Access with the new Unified Update, out today. This huge patch focuses on improving the player experience with faster queues and more intense matches, as well as adding much-requested features such as a new waiting room, vaulting, voice chat, and more. Learn all about it in our latest featurette, releasing alongside the patch today.https://youtu.be/V021A5jQhPs We'll be monitoring very closely your reports about this new update to be ready to fix any issue that you might encounter. Please post your feedback in the Steam discussion hub and our official forum. The update’s namesake is the new Unified game mode, which makes playing as a duo the default and puts all players together in the same matchmaking pool. Those who want to play solo can do so, and hoard all the gear they find for themselves without having to split it with a partner, but may find themselves outnumbered. This is just another new way Fear the Wolves is creating a unique battle royale experience, alongside our radiation system, treasure maps, PvE elements and much more. Also included in the Unified Update is a completely reworked on-boarding experience to go along with a new deployment phase. It adds contextual hints as well as a revamped in-game UI that should help new players navigate the complex changes and tweaks Fear the Wolves has made to the battle royale formula. Finally, squad voice chat and vaulting make their debut in the Unified Update. Both are vital to getting the game ready for final launch in early 2019, and greatly improve the gameplay experience, particularly for those matching randomly with other players online. You can read the full patchnotes for the update below. The Fear the Wolves Unified Update is out today.
